At Sunday’s Carnival, held on July 7th, Buangkok, neighbourhood residents learned about plans to build a new residential complex with retail space and even private houses.

Construction of the complex on an area of almost 4 hectares should be completed in 2022. The three-storey shopping center will also house apartments and a kindergarten (childcare facility). CapitaLand-CDL joint venture will perform the construction.

In general, residents appreciated this idea. Some reported that it was difficult to find a childcare facility in the area, so they were waiting for the project to be finalized. More than 1,500 residents and officials took part in the carnival. The folks were asked to express their ideas and suggestions on what they would like to see in a new residential complex. Probably someone will come up with some kind of local Singapore startup.
